How do Muslims dress for the hajj?
How do Muslims dress for the hajj?

Muslims wear Ihram for the hajj; this is the condition for purification of body and soul. To wear an ihram, first you have to make an intention; your aim for Hajj must be for Allah Almighty.

Status of Ihram

Ihram indicates the harmony among all the Muslims; when all pilgrims, especially men, wear the same type of white dress, it gives them a sense of brotherhood. It shows obedience to Allah.

According to a verse of the Quran

"Hajj is well known for months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein (by entering the state of Ihram)—there is (to be for him) no sexual relations, no disobedience, and no disputing during Hajj."

(Quran 2:197)
